It all started with a dream. That's all the Milner brothers of Fairview needed when in 1995 they decided to put together the largest collection of country music talent the Peace Country had ever seen and call it Bud Country Jamboree. Starting with local talent like Rocking Horse and 12 Gauge and ending with international stars Prairie Oyster and Blackhawk, Bud Country Jamboree became yet another example of determination and desire leading to development in our northern community. And just as Rocking Horse launched the career of Duane Steele and 12 Gauge became Emerson Drive, Bud Country Jamboree started to evolve into Bud Country Fever. Their dream now a reality, the Milner brothers handed the reins over to Grande Prairie businessmen Ken Truhn and Brian Nash in the second year of the festival, and for many years to follow. Each year brought another batch of country music talent, from future stars in early days like Gord Bamford, Jason McCoy, and Terri Clark to world wide talent like Neal McCoy, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Tanya Tucker, and Lonestar

Through many years, scores of bands, and a few name changes, Bud Country Fever has constantly looked to the future while holding strong to the local ties that have helped this festival become the highlight of the summer for many in the Peace Country. Evergreen Park has been the home of Bud Country Fever since its beginning and has continued to grow along with festival. Thousands of dollars each year from the festival have gone to help local charities, both big and small, achieve their goals and improve the lives of those around us. But the strongest and most enduring relationship has always been with the thousands of people who flock each year to the festival. Hundreds have volunteered to make each year better than the last, and camping spaces and hotel rooms are always filled for the weekend with people who want nothing more than to be carried away from everyday life and become a part of something bigger than themselves.

Joel and Sibylle Acton of Dukes Country Club and Mingles on Main in Grande Prairie are the current owners of the festival and, having been involved for the past several years, have seen how these bonds with the community have made Bud Country Fever bigger and better than ever. Their family's excitement for this year's event is matched only by those who attend with their own family and friends for a weekend of camping, music, and fun. With another successful year behind us that saw artists including Gretchen Wilson, Jo Dee Messina, Colin Raye, The Kentucky Headhunters, George Canyon, and many more, it's time once again to get back to our roots and boots and continue to bring the best in country music to Grande Prairie. Stay tuned as we roll out our line up of artists for this year and we'll see you all at Bud Country Fever!
